What is a Brazilian Blowout?
Brazilian Blowout professional smoothing treatments are the most innovative and effective in the world. Through the use of breakthrough bonding technologies, these customizable smoothing treatments actually improve the condition of the hair by creating a protective protein layer around the hair shaft to eliminate frizz and smooth the cuticle. The end result is smooth, frizz-free hair with radiant shine!
Who is the best candidate for the Brazilian Blowout?
It has been our experience, that good candidates for the Brazilian Blowout are anyone who has frizzy, damaged or processed hair. We have performed the treatment on every hair type (fine/course/frizzy/curly), as well as hair that has been permed, Japanese straightened and extensions. In doing so, we have found that with proper communication and a well-considered application, everyone can benefit from the Brazilian Blowout smoothing treatment.
What kind of look will you get from the Brazilian Blowout?
The hair will be left totally frizz-free, shiny, effortlessly manageable and with plenty of body and bounce. There will still be the option to wear hair curly/wavy (depending on the hair type) and the freedom to blow dry hair smooth and straight in a fraction of the time invested prior to receiving the treatment.
Can I still receive a Brazilian Blowout if I have highlights and/or color?
Yes, the Brazilian Blowout will actually improve the health of color-treated/highlighted hair by conditioning the hair while sealing the cuticle for enhanced color, reduced frizz and radiant shine.
Is the Brazilian Blowout going to make my hair straight?
If your hair is wavy, the Brazilian Blowout will make your hair appear naturally straight and healthy. If your hair is very curly, it will minimize frizz while enhancing the appearance of the natural wave/curl. If you have straight, frizzy hair, this treatment will eliminate frizz and promote radiant shine.
How long does the Brazilian Blowout last?
The Brazilian Blowout will last for 10-12 weeks if the Açai After-Care Maintenance product line is used. The Brazilian Blowout is a cumulative treatment, in that the more you receive it, the healthier the hair will be and the longer the result will last.
Can you apply the Brazilian Blowout directly on top of other relaxers and strengtheners?
Yes. The Brazilian Blowout actually works best on chemically treated hair and helps to improve the hairs condition by fortifying each strand with essential amino acids. The Brazilian Blowout works great directly on top of a relaxer. Perform the relaxer first, Brazilian Blowout next, and then neutralize at the very end of both treatments. The Brazilian Blowout is great to perform when someone is trying to move away from having relaxers or Japanese straighteners. It puts movement back into the hair, allowing the hair to look its best.
Will my hair lose volume if I receive the Brazilian Blowout?
No, your hair will not lose volume as a result of receiving the Brazilian Blowout. Your hair will maintain its natural volume and you will still receive great bend and memory when blow-drying and/or using a curling iron.
Can you color your hair the same day you receive a Brazilian Blowout?
Yes, however, you must color your hair prior to having the Brazilian Blowout smoothing treatment. If you get a Brazilian Blowout and wish to get a color service at a later date, you will need to wait 2 weeks.
What is Virgin Hair?
Virgin Hair is hair that is in its natural state. No chemical changes, no color, has not been processed, and all cuticles are intact.
What is Remy Hair?
Remy hair is considered to be the finest quality of human hair. The term “Remy” means all the hair cuticles are healthy, intact, and flow in the same direction from the root to the tip. The cuticle is the outer layer of the hair strand and the structure is similar to the overlapping of shingles on a rooftop. Remy hair is typically collected directly from a woman’s head, and as it is cut it is held in a ponytail to ensure no hair strands fall to the floor. Remy hair will also last longer than non-Remy hair. Therefore, it can be reused, flat ironed, and colored.
How to measure the length of your hair?
Each texture must be measured differently. The Straight Brazilin hair extensions should be measured to the fall of the hair. Start 0 at the weft and measure to the ends of the bundle. The Wavy and Curly Brazilian hair must be measured by pulling the hair straight. Again, start 0 at the weft; pull the hair straight from the ends, and the length will be at the tips of the hair. Each bundle will not measure exact when it is still wrapped in its band, as tension can affect the fall of each strand.
Can the hair be straightened or curled?
Your new virgin hair extensions can be treated as if it is your own hair. You are able to use a thermal (hot) tool to straighten, curl, crimp, etc. Keep in mind the hair does not have all the nutrients that a strand growing from your scalp will. Heat damage can cause breakage and dryness. Therefore, it is imperative that you use a heat-protecting product and protect it during sleep hours.
Can I color my new hair?
Any chemical processes should be done by a professional or at least consulted by one. This purchase is an investment for you and chemically altering the hair can possibly damage it. Though, our virgin hair extensions can handle a coloring process very well, please be cautious. Once the hair is chemically altered incorrectly, the cuticle can become damaged and overexposed causing fraying, breakage, dryness, and tangling. This in turn will affect the overall look and feel of your hair. Chemical damage has no reverse button.
Shedding?
Minimally, no hair is absolutely perfect. We have reinforced machine wefting, to minimize shedding to nearly none. You may see a few strands here or there, but nothing troubling.
How long does this hair last?
In general, the lifespan of human hair extensions depends on how well you take care of them, how you wash them, and how often you wear them. Our hair is 100% human hair that has all its cuticles intact. It features a strong hair shaft, and if taken care of well can last up to 12-18 months or longer.
How Should I care for my hair?
All virgin hair reacts differently to product and regimens. Please be mindful to stay away from ingredients that can strip your extensions of moisture such as parabens, sulfate, and silicone. These products usually tend to have a high alcohol content which dehydrates the hair follicle of its nutrients. Heavy oils are also not necessary to care for your extensions as it can weigh down your hair pattern. You need to keep your hair moisturized. If you do not it will cause drying, tangling, matting and shedding. Oil is not moisture, but it can be used to seal in moisture during deep conditions. Providing moisture is accomplished by using a moisturizing conditioner. Since hair extensions do not receive natural oils from the scalp like our own hair, they do not need to be washed as often. Please keep in mind that the less you wash your extensions, the longer they will last you.
How many bundles should I order?
The key to determining how many bundles to purchase depends on the look you are wanting. As all bundles are the same weight (~3.5oz), the longer bundles have shorter wefts, and the shorter bundles have longer wefts. For a full sew-in, we recommend 3 bundles of hair. For lengths over 20”, we recommend ordering 4-5 bundles of hair. If you desire an install with a lot of volume, you will need 4-5 bundles or 4 bundles with a closure. A closure is a great addition to your install, as you will have no leave-out. This is considered a full protective style, and none of your hair will be exposed.
How do know I know my hair is real human hair vs synthetic?
There is one easy way for teaching you how to know if your hair is human hair. Cut a small sample of the hair and burn it. The smell of human hair burning is like a natural burn odor and feels like charcoal. It burns quickly and turns to ash. Synthetic hair smells like burning plastic; there is a small flame and the hair feels viscous when burnt.
